A WRITER'S TO-DO LIST

TO-DO LISTS

Writers sometimes have odd to-do lists. After looking at my most recent efforts, I decided to share some of the items I had yet to cross out. Taken out of context, these might seem bad. It’s one of those “you had to be there” kinds of things. But you have to write them down and hope the FBI doesn’t raid your house. Some of them could be a little hard to explain.

To prove my point, here is part of my to-do list while working on Fourth Grave. (WARNING! There could be spoilers. I use a lot of initials, so the references may not be overt, but if you know the series, you will totally get who I’m talking about. Hope this doesn’t give too much away.) OH! And some of these scenes didn’t make the final cut, so don’t put too much stock in my list.

Here goes:

  • Kill F before the fire.
  • Add dead body to arson scene.
  • Leave getaway car running.
  • Have D tie Ch up to make his escape.
  • Have Ch’s gun disappear in hotel.
  • Leave duct tape in hotel room.
  • Don’t forget H’s clothes!
  • Hint about H: Inanimate objects are silent in death.
  • Look up ice cream.
  • Does BG stab or shoot her? Maybe a car bomb?

And the list goes on and on. To me, these make perfect sense. They would probably make perfect sense to an FBI agent, as well. He’d just draw the wrong conclusions, which would be unfortunate.

Care to share items from your to-do list? 😊

WITH GREAT BREASTS COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.
